The actual repair, once completed, was ok, but the timing, response, and customer service was very far below par.

The vehicle was repaired in a timely fashion. However, post repair the vehicle interior was returned extremely dusty. After complaining upon pick up a female came out with a dust cloth and wiped the dash off . My husband and I are told ”We don’t provide a full detail “.Of course I didn’t expect such. I did expect that the vehicle be returned in the same condition it was dropped of in . We attempted to contact a manager regarding the condition of interior and received no response. After contacting our auto insurance we received a phone call. The car was picked up to be cleaned . After 24 hours we still have haven’t been notified of the status or when my vehicle thatI did purchase at Al Serra will be returned. This has been an inconvenience. If at any point, I need another vehicle repaired AL Serra will not be my choice.

Very nice friendly staff. My truck was perfect when I received it back. They cleaned it better than when I bought it brand new! I’m overall completely satisfied and will definitely be back for future repairs

VW GTI was brought in for two separate reasons: turbocharger malfunction and some unknown person drove into our bumper causing the wheel well to bend and rub the tire. It helped that Al Serra was able to address both at one shop. However, it was not clear to me that this was, in fact, multiple shops that don't speak with each other. Coordination between both sides led to various miscommunications about which department had the car and when they should order parts or who was working on it. They would find out where the car was when they called me to schedule service and I said, "It is already at your shop, as it has been for X weeks." Eventually, the car pingponged between service and body, each group doing part but not all of the work because they were waiting on yet another part that had not shown up yet. My insurance company stopped paying for the rental car as we exceeded our $600 limit for reimbursement, and it was nearing a month at your shop. Al Serra's Jennifer was helpful in sending a certificate to Enterprise to extend coverage at the price that was quoted to our insurance company even though they would no longer pay, and she assured me that State Farm had, strangely, extended what it allowed as time to complete the job until 9/24. I got a call on 9/23 from Al Serra saying that the parts had been painted but they had yet to be reassembled, and that it would be another day or two. On 9/24 I got another Al Serra update but it sounded like the liner(?) still wasn't in and they needed that to finish the wheel well so it wouldn't be until 9/26, so I should call Enterprise and let them know that I'd need an extension to 9/25. On 9/26, I got a call that the car was done. My daughter picked up the car. This morning (9/27), she called to tell me that when she was driving it, to use the emergency brake, she had to pull it way up high, but when disengaging it to drive, the emergency brake would slowly edge up higher and higher on its own while she was driving, so she'd have to put her purse on the emergency brake to keep it from engaging and the warning light turning on. I had her drive the car back to Al Serra since Saturdays are short days and I didn't want her to miss the chance to have someone look at it or give her a loaner until they could. My husband and I called Al Serra to speak with Josh in service who figured out that the problem was likely on the body shop side since the caliper and cable are at the rear when the wheel well reassembly took place (might need to be retensioned or assembled), and his work in service was on the turbocharger away from that area. He put us through to the body shop but the person there was not immediately available and would call back. When they did call back, my daughter was already back at the shop and the person on the phone said they'd talk with her first before talking with us. She then called me from home again in the same VW GTI that had this emergency brake problem and told me that they gave her an appointment for Monday and to come back then for a loaner. I called the body shop back and spoke with Matt. I asked him why she was sent back without a loaner when the emergency brake was slowly engaging *while* driving. He claimed he did not know that at the time or he wouldn't have sent her without a loaner. I cannot believe someone didn't even look into it or consider the safety issue before sending her back in the same car. PLEASE DO A TEST DRIVE & INSPECTION before calling us in again.
