Bill Mathews Autobody and Powder coating is a family owned and operated auto repair business and has served Springfield and the surrounding area since 1972. In 2006 the shop was leveled by a tornado however the shop was completely rebuilt and updated to better serve the needs of our customers. We provide complete collision repair, mechanical and we also offer sand blasting and powder coating. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service, friendly family environment and the highest quality repairs.

The repairs itself was top notch and people at Mathews friendly. However, once they replaced the headliner, the sync audio cables were damaged or malfunctioning once they place the new headliner on the vehicle. The sync function was working before entering the auto body shop. This was not noticed until after the new headliner was welded and the vehicle microphone to the sync does not work. They attempted to fix the problem multiple times, which were unsuccessful. They told me to take it to the dealer to take a look. They offered to pay the bill for the initial look. Dealer wanted to drop the headliner again. Auto body claims no fault. I declined the procedure and stuck with a shop fee as the auto body declined to pay. The repairs itself were good. But the vehicle sync does not work in result to taking it in the auto body.

Paint is great, very happy with the paint! I had to tighten up the rocker skirt, was floppidy. I had to re fasten the spare tire and completely readjust the trunk latch. Not sure what was going on in the trunk for front fender / rocker /front door work. All I can figure is the trunk must have been slammed when the latched was closed in order to force it out of adjustment like that...
