The issues began with the Collision Center following repairs to my 2024 BMW 530i after an accident. Communication regarding the progress of the repair was inconsistent, and after receiving the vehicle back, I discovered that the Iconic Glow grille, which worked properly before the collision, was no longer functioning. I contacted the Collision Center about the issue and was ultimately directed to coordinate through BMW Service while having a recall completed so the grille could also be evaluated. That led to another communication issue. I dropped the vehicle off on Thursday and received a loaner. The repair was completed and my vehicle was ready on Friday, but because my service advisor was off, no one contacted me. I only learned the car had been ready after calling myself Saturday afternoon shortly before closing, even though I had already received automated texts and emails thanking me for my visit. Service ultimately determined that the grille issue was related to a loose or disconnected wire associated with the prior collision repair and corrected it. General Manager Dan Bailey subsequently contacted me personally, apologized, acknowledged that there were “holes in the process,” and assured me the concerns would be addressed. I greatly appreciated his accountability and follow up. The vehicle was ultimately repaired correctly, but the communication and coordination between Collision, Service, and the customer fell well below what I expect from a BMW dealership.
