Our History & Heritage The Causeway Family of Dealerships was established with the opening of Causeway Ford in June of 1969. “The Summer of ’69”. David C Wintrode purchased the Ford dealership from Robert Conti. The original building was on Bay Ave at the current site of Taylor Made Cabinets and the Post Office. The Lincoln Mercury franchises became available and were added in 1971. With thoughts of the future and the need for more room, David Wintrode purchased property on what would be the new center of Manahawkin, Route 72. The very large facility was opened in 1978. Jeep and Suzuki were a part of the family for some time as well. Causeway Honda opened its doors in 2001, Nissan in 2007 and Hyundai in 2016. One business practice David followed from the time he opened the doors in 1969 was community support. For years he served on non-profit board like the United Way, Southern Ocean Medical Center, The Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and others.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received. Causeway Collision only repaired what they could easily see and didn’t thoroughly ensure that my car was returned to its pre-accident condition. In addition to dangerously low tire pressure that wasn’t noticed, the horn on my car no longer works. This is very negligent to not thoroughly inspect a car that was in an accident and only focus on the cosmetic work.
