Wendell was helpful in walking us through this process of the salvage title. I appreciated that he found parts on the vehicle--the headlamp controller--that could be reused and saved us a lot of money. I also appreciated that you found parts that were not so expensive as in the estimate. You were very quick to get the work done and communicated with me well as it was completed. Our '14 Prius V 5 looks great, so we're pleased! I do wish we had known that if pictures had been taken of the interior, it's possible they would've valued our vehicle higher. If we had known to remove the door from repair before your estimate was sent to Travelers to keep the cost further below 75%, we would've done that. We would rather Travelers had covered the repairs than to have to navigate the salvage title route. Your work would've been the same, and I believe you would've been paid more for it, and we would've been saved many miles on the road (traveling to Louisville for the title and back in 2 days) and saved so much stress that I could certainly live without. My suggestion is that you walk your customer through what it means to repair specific things. For example, that back door we saw damage on, but if you had pointed out that it would mean more labor (tail light, bumper) in order to do the painting on it, we would probably have removed that from the original estimate. I know you didn't know how much they would value the vehicle, but we could've figured out a ballpark figure, determined the 75% that would total the vehicle, and made sure we stayed under that. If we had only known, we would've made different choices. Without costing Travelers more, it would've been better for us and, I believe, it would've been better for you. This is just something for you to consider including as you work with new customers. So far, we've survived the process and we are very pleased. God is good all the time
