Mr. Rudy went to bat for us against the insurance company paying for damages caused by their insured. Through dozens of emails and pictures they finally settled. Great working our rig looks brand new.

All things considered, I’d never recommend them. It’s unfortunate because I think they were nice, but the entire experience was unlike any I’ve ever had with a repair shop.

The staff are nice. Now the reality. My car was hit by debris falling off a truck, breaking the window, smashing the side mirror, causing a rip in the lower front faring and scratches in the front d side fender and door. This to me was not a significant amount for repairs. The major impact was windshield and mirror. Initial estimate was $3100. Once the shop looked at the car the estimate jumped to a whopping $16,000! The shop haggled with insurance company and agreed on about $11,000. Here’s the problem areas. The body shop exceeded my 40 plus days of paid rental car and had my car almost 2 months, despite giving me at least 7-8 different completion dates over a month. They did give us a free shop owned rental which broke down. Now the worst part. The shop did about $11,000 worth of non approved repairs, increasing the total repairs to $21,000!!! So this put me on the hook for $11,000 if my insurance company declined payment, or I had to file an appeal to get a third party estimator normally costing $500. The work could easily have been requested because they had the car so long, but I get the feeling this is the norm for them as they had the third party process very dialed in, and they told me they had about 50 other cars in the same boat and expected 10% plus to go to appeal. HOW CAN A REPAIR SHOP SPEND MY MONEY WITHOUT ASKING & DO UNAPPROVED REPAIRS FOR $11,000!!! This had me on the phone with my insurance company immediately and wondering if I was gonna need an attorney. In the end the work was approved but I feel if I didn’t have a reputable insurance company there may have been more of an issue. In talking to them, they had some things to say I won’t repeat, but it did explain why we pay so much for insurance. The car did look great, but considering the damage and repair costs were about 66% of the cost of my car brand new, it should have looked good. My frustrations were I feel they gave no real effort to finish my car timely, despite me telling them 4-5 times how much not having a car is costing my wife in work and when they give a completion date (they gave about 8 different dates) my wife schedules work around those dates and then loses the work. If this was solely based on finished work, I think they did a good job. I’m thankful my insurance company who I’ve been with for over 25 years signed off on the repairs. While a good completed product is important, business practices, meeting commitments, and trustworthiness is important and they did fail in all these areas.

They didn’t seem to wanna hear how continually missing (7-8 plus) completion dates were costing my wife work when she scheduled her work based on those dates. They kept the car nearly 2 months. Ran through my time for an insurance approved rental car. Then gave me a shop owned rental that broke down. They failed to obtain approvals for $11,000 of work they did.

The bill says the grill was repaired because it was no longer available. Rudy stated he paid 600.00 for a new one. Which lie am I supposed to believe
