Here are some tips to help drivers maintain\nsocial distancing measures following an accident during the pandemic as they\nshare insurance information, get a vehicle appraised and repaired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Make Safety a Priority<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Make sure the roadway is safe before getting out\nof your car. <\/li><li>Call 911 if anyone is hurt. <\/li><li>Report the accident to the police if vehicle\ndamage is severe or state law requires it. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Respect Personal Distance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Maintain a social distance of six feet from\nother drivers, occupants, and any first responders.<\/li><li>As an extra measure of precaution, consider\nwearing a mask when you interact with anyone at the scene of the accident.<\/li><li>Ask to use your smart-phone and camera to\nexchange information and gather facts.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Capture Accident Facts <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Exchange information with the driver via text\n(name, phone, license plate numbers, as well as vehicle descriptions, including\nmake, color, and model). <\/li><li>Place insurance card and driver\u2019s license on a\nflat surface and take pictures of both sides, and share with the other\ndriver(s).<\/li><li>Take photos of the damage to all vehicles\ninvolved and the accident scene.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Inquire with Insurance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you contact your insurance carrier to inform them of\nthe accident, ask if they have a mobile tool available to submit information\ndigitally, should you choose to file a claim.
