Bill Mathews Autobody and Powder coating is a family owned and operated auto repair business and has served Springfield and the surrounding area since 1972. In 2006 the shop was leveled by a tornado however the shop was completely rebuilt and updated to better serve the needs of our customers. We provide complete collision repair, mechanical and we also offer sand blasting and powder coating. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service, friendly family environment and the highest quality repairs.

Having dealt with Mathews Auto Body in the past, and the good customer service, I found this to be sorely lacking this time around. First of all, what was supposed to be a five work day repair turned into a 14 work day repair. Not once did anyone call me to advise me of the status of my vehicle repair. I had to take the initiative to call, not once, but four times, to get an update. Each call was met with a long delay on the phone line, then, a rather confusing update. Confusing because each time I was given a different reason why my vehicle wasn't ready. On one occasion I was told that because GM was on strike they couldn't get a part. Yet, in a previous phone call I was told by the front desk all parts were in. It didn't seem like the right hand knew what the left hand was

I called for an update. Guy could not find any information. Said he would call me back. He never did. I had to go to shop to get an update. Unsat!

Body works looks great but they didn’t fix the alignment even when we specifically asked. They were not in contact with the representative we used from the insurance company. Even now, this email was addressed to my daughter who dropped the car off. Not by the customer name.
