My Experience

I was impressed by the service I received at CARSTAR Manheim Imports. From the time of first phone call until I picked up my vehicle, Renee was excellent at communicating and went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly with my repair, Enterprise rental, and insurance claim. My car looks better than new, and I was also impressed that the job was done with such care, as if I was part of the family rather than a first time customer.

I would not recommend CARSTAR Manheim Imports based on my experience. My vehicle was scanned for diagnostic codes and I was charged for the service even though I did not request or knowingly authorize it. When I contacted the shop about the charge, I was told that scanning is their policy and that it was included in the estimate provided to my husband. Regardless of whether it is standard policy, I believe a customer should be clearly informed of and agree to a service before being charged for it. The lack of transparency, along with the response I received when I questioned the charge, left me disappointed and unwilling to recommend the shop to others.

We apologize that you are dissatisfied with the standard practices at every vehicle repair shop, including ours. These scans were also required per Ford's manufacturing details, which I provided to your husband in an email attachment. Pre scan checked for any existing codes. We then replaced your mirror, which had blind spots. We scanned the vehicle after replacing the mirror to ensure it was working properly for vehicle safety. Our pre and post scans perform an entire health check on every vehicle. And as a courtesy, I provided your husband with a copy of the codes present when your vehicle was here, so you could address them with a mechanic if they weren't already being addressed. The final repair cost was less than originally quoted, yet you called, yelling and demanding a refund when we ultimately saved you well over $100. Every time I attempted to explain, you refused to let me speak and only yelled about a refund. Your vehicle was completed in less than 1 day and met your husband's expectations, sorry that was not the case for you. We uphold all manufacturer standard practices and recommendations on every vehicle that comes into our shop; yours was no different.

My Experience

Renee was very helpful right from the beginning and I appreciated her consistent communications with me while my car was there. She also provided the resources I needed for my car rental arrangements and worked with my insurance company. In addition, she made a point of introducing me to Ryan, who would work on my car. It was very encouraging to actually know who was doing the work, and nice to speak with him also. My car looks great, and I know it was very closely assessed and evaluated before they started, and everything is wonderful. Although it’s a daily event for them, it is something unusual for a customer coming in and I greatly appreciated their professional professionalism, right along with their genuine caring that I could get through the process well with their help Thank you!!!
