My car was towed to this shop Thursday afternoon. The estimator reached out to me that same day and asked me to sign the authorization, but I never heard from the estimator again after that. I called Tuesday morning to get an update and spoke with the receptionist. I asked for the status of my vehicle, and she was very short with me. She told me all of the estimators were in the back and that she would ask them for an update and call me back. I never received a call. I called again Thursday around 5 p.m. and was told my vehicle was ready for pickup. Since I was still at work, I let them know I would pick it up Friday. I was then told they would be closing at 1 p.m. Friday for a company event, so I arranged to pick it up Saturday. When I picked up my vehicle Saturday, the repairs appeared to be fine. My main concern was the lack of communication throughout the process. I’m not sure if I received fewer updates because I was the claimant, but I am also insured with State Farm, and one of the reasons I chose this shop was because it is a preferred shop. I’ve worked with other repair shops that provide regular text updates, copies of estimates, and a call when the vehicle is ready. I actually saw in the State Farm app that my vehicle was estimated to be ready Friday, which is why I called the shop Thursday. Otherwise, I would not have known about the early Friday closing. Hopefully I’m never involved in another accident, but if I am, I would likely choose a different repair shop. The repairs themselves seemed fine; I just wish there had been much better communication and customer service throughout the process.
