NY City Automotive did fix my car and also clean the inside and out fully, which I appreciated. So in that way that did what they were supposed to do. However their customer service leaves something to be desired. When I first arrived I parked out front and walked to the door to check in; their door was locked and someone came over to yell at me and insult me about parking in front of a business. When I explained I was there for car repair he apologized and unlocked the door for me to let me in. They asked me not to call them and insisted they would call me with updates which they never did, and when I called, they told me it would be 7 days before I would hear back. Then, 4 days later, they called me at 4:40 pm to say my car was ready and I needed to pick it up ASAP; but they close at 5. The next morning they left me another message at 9 am on the dot insisting I was unresponsive and delinquent. They essentially gave me 20 minutes of the working day to get back to them. When I asked if I could pick up the car after 5 or on a weekend they said they would be closed, but would charge me $85/day regardless, even know they weren’t open on those days. So they fundamentally held me hostage by giving me less than 24 hours notice to leave work early and retrieve my car, which was off the initial timeline I was given. So, an unpleasant experience, but they did fix my car properly which I suppose is the whole point.
