I brought my 2001 Ford Excursion into the shop because we had a deer hit our rear door and fender. My initial experience was great. They were friendly and professional. I was excited to find a shop that actually works on older vehicles. My insurance approved their quote and paid us directly. We ended up finding a replacement door for only $100. I dropped off the vehicle and told them not to work on the door but to just do the fender because we would be replacing the door instead. An hour later I was called and told not to worry about getting the door because the dent popped right out, so I didn’t get the replacement door. A week later I was called to get an approval for some additional work, so that all the work could be warrantied. At this time I was told that the door needed 11 hours of body work ($75 an hour). I asked him why he called me a week prior telling me not to get the door, and he just said the insurance was paying for it not me. He said there would be a billing issue if we purchased a door rather than doing the body work with them. However, that work was already approved and we had received a check, any additional needed repairs would be the only thing that would need an approval. In reality had we just had the door replaced, that would have been less work ($$$) for the shop. We had planned to put the money we saved towards our insurance deductible but because of this we had to pay out of pocket. Because of this discrepancy we didn’t feel that the shop was honest or had our best interest in mind and won’t be going back. On a positive note, they did do good work. It took about 2 weeks to get everything done.

From the time I met with John Seib for initial estimate to when I picked up our repaired Cadillac XT6, very pleased with his work and that of his responsive receptionist. Our vehicle was completed to look as if it had never been in an accident. We certainly would recommend Scott Shawver's Auto Body to anyone in need of their services. The initial time frame for repair was estimated by John at 1 week and we had it back Friday of the same week that we dropped it off about 8am Monday and that also exceeded our expectations and reduced our rental expenses, which is much appreciated.
