I would tell them that the shop does a good job on repairs, but do not expect to hear from them during the repair. I would also inform them that the repair will more than likely take longer than they were originally told it would.

I never received any communication or updates during the entire repair process. I had to initiate every communication. It took longer to complete than originally told, but I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t called.
