I paid Brownie’s Collision over $5,300 before I was allowed to pick up my vehicle because I was told the repairs were complete. I left the shop believing my vehicle had been fully restored to its pre-accident condition. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When I picked up my vehicle, I immediately noticed that one of the replacement headlights appeared cloudy and defective. More importantly, the vehicle was still pulling to the right. I was told that the body shop had performed a wheel alignment and that the pulling was only because I needed a new tire. I purchased a new tire as recommended, but the vehicle continued pulling to the right, proving that was not the cause. I returned the vehicle to the shop and even drove with the insurance adjuster so she could hear the loud noise coming from the steering when the wheel was turned. Only after I brought the vehicle back did the shop determine that the steering gear assembly (steering rack) needed to be replaced and submitted it to the insurance company for approval. I am very disappointed that these issues were not discovered before my vehicle was returned to me. A proper post-repair inspection and test drive should have revealed that the steering system was not functioning correctly. Instead, I drove my vehicle on the freeway believing it was safe, when there was apparently a significant steering problem. Had the steering failed while I was driving, the consequences could have been catastrophic. My expectation was that, after paying more than $5,300, my vehicle would be returned to me in safe, roadworthy, pre-accident condition. Instead, I had to make multiple trips back to the shop, incur additional expenses for a tire that did not resolve the problem, and continue dealing with delays and uncertainty. This experience has been extremely frustrating and has caused me to lose confidence in the quality of the repairs
