job was well done paint is immaculate . paint is matching looks brand new, only bummer thing is that my license plate light is out after all the repairs was done before they were working prior to repairs, other than that everything came back good beside that lil problem which is why i give 9/10 shop is legit . very Courteous and genuine upon the initial inspection .

We only went with CARSTAR because we wanted to support a small privately owned business instead of the Auto Mall Collision center, and were led to believe CARSTAR's price would be in line with the Auto Mall. Instead we were given excuses of misquoting us, and alleging that the Auto Mall would have done the same thing by charging above their estimate. Hind sight, our friends had told us of positive experiences they had at the Auto Mall Collision Center, complete with videos of the work and an accurate estimate. Based on our experience, we would deter people away from CARSTAR.

Their estimate was over $500 higher than a competitor. Because a private party was paying for our collision repair, we were told the estimate was high to prevent us the hassle of having to go to the paying party for more money. But likely, the actual amount would be lower and in line with the competitor. This was apparently a sales tactic because the ending cost was even higher than the estimate. The excuse was that they did not include everything on the estimate, such as two tone paint and parts. We were misled because had their estimate been more forthright, we would not have chosen them, despite that fact that we were to expect the actual cost to be less than the overstated estimate.

As described in an earlier comment, we were told the estimate was written on the high side, and to expect the actual cost to be in line with a competitor. This was not true. They took every penny of the estimate, not coming in line with the competitor's price as we had been told.
