When I picked up my car yesterday, I noticed that you had painted the rubber trim on both sides of my car (not just the damaged side, I guess so it would match, but maybe hoping I wouldn’t notice). The estimate said you planned to “resurface” the trim, not paint it. It looked ok, so I didn’t say anything at the time I picked up my car; but the more I thought about it, the more unhappy I am. If a car door slams into the rubber trim, it’s not noticeable; but the shiny paint that’s now on both sides of my car doors is likely to get scratched, which will be very noticeable. I feel you should have asked me before making that kind of change. I did not imagine you’d paint the rubber, and would have said no. I’d rather have the rubber a little scraped, than have paint that’s likely to cause a lot more visible problems in the future.

They did a great job, the paint looks great and the dent is gone! The only issue was that they didn’t include the scrapes on two places on the rubber trim in the estimate, so I didn’t get that fixed. But over all, my car looks better than it did before the accident.
