I should have chosen a body shop in Lexington, but chose Honda where I purchased my vehicle expecting great service/Big mistake on my part

Repair Quality

I have purchased Hondas—and my family has owned Hondas—since I was 16 years old, and this was by far the worst and most disappointing Honda experience we have ever had. My vehicle was kept 16 days for a windshield repair due to raccoon damage, with little to no communication from the service department. I repeatedly had to call or text for updates. The receptionist handling communication lacked professionalism, basic customer service skills, and the ability to clearly communicate. On the day I picked up my vehicle, my personal cards and paperwork were misplaced after being set on a side table where they fell under a chair. A manager had to step in to help locate them, which was unnecessary and stressful. The day after pickup, I noticed my driver’s side door would not automatically close properly. It hesitated, went back down, and only functioned after trying again. I am documenting this here in case it is related to sensor or repair work performed while my vehicle was in their care. This experience highlights a serious need for improved training and oversight within the service department, particularly in communication, organization, and customer care. I do want to recognize that the body shop manager was exceptional. She was professional, attentive, and took responsibility by offering to compensate part of the 16-day rental car expense I had to pay. Her actions were the only positive part of this experience. I am currently in the market to purchase another Honda, and based on this experience, I will likely not purchase from Flow Honda. I am instead planning to take my business to the Asheboro Honda location. After a lifetime of Honda loyalty, this experience was extremely disappointing. I expected much better.

This experience was disappointing to I me as it showed a lack of quality control and attention to details

Repair Quality

Initially the estimate was around $6000, but then went over the quote twice. The third time it went over the estimate, Honda Collision did not even tell me about it. It took nearly four weeks to complete the job although I was told earlier it would be much sooner. Communication about job status was inconsistent as I had to call to get updates. The worst part was when I came to pick up the vehicle, the back seats were not put up and there were leaves in the trunk. After I drove off, I noticed an error message that said blind spot light was not working and the rear view mirror on the passenger side was not moving, so I had to drive back, the technician said it was due to wire connection issue. Although they took the car into the garage and fixed the problem, this tells me Honda Flow did not have a quality control process in place and did not pay attention to basic details. This experience was for a nearly $10,000 repair job and inconsistent with my previous experience with Flow Honda. By the way, after a couple of days, I also noticed the sliding door that was replaced was also not sliding when pulling the manual lever due to a switch position. Again, lack of attention to details.

Customer Service

Inconsistent communication and I had to call a few times to get status updates. I was not informed when the cost went up the third time
