Walk into a G&C Auto Body location and you might be forgiven for thinking that you’ve just entered a swanky hotel lobby or cruise company lounge. The massive wooden counters, nice carpets, tasteful lighting and well dressed employees might surprise you at first, but it’s all part of the G&C Auto Body experience, which is carefully crafted to make you feel welcomed and at ease. “When someone walks into one of my shops I want them to understand that I plan on being in business for a long time,” Owner Gene Crozat says, “I’m fussy about everything.” The waiting areas even include gourmet coffee, pastries, sodas and a fridge filled with chilled bottles of water. The front desk guy was a bit of a challenge. Both in terms of making the appointment and paying, he was less than gracious. Also, G& C will not take cash, cashier's check and charges significantly extra for credit card. Had to use debit card at the last minute -- glad it was with me, and was not told ahead of time. That's a lot of money to come up with at pickup. Manager Luis makes up for all that, however. Give him a raise!
