My Jeep Grand Cherokee sustained damage to the driver's side quarter panel on the morning of July 4th, when my husband, not used to the temperamental gear shifter, went forward instead of reverse in our driveway incline, and hit the pole supporting our second story deck, causing $4,000 in damage. Because it was the start of a long four-day holiday, I could not bring my car in to Nigro's until Tuesday, July 9th. In the meantime, the wheel well fender crumpled in and the tire rubbed against it, causing damage to the tire. The Progressive claims adjuster, Antonio Torres sent me claims paperwork with a $134.00 deduction for "betterment", an insurance industry term for an amount I had to pay out-of-pocket for the depreciation on my tire versus the new tire the claim was going to cover. I explained to Antonio that my tires were brand new, having gotten them in February of the past year, and the car only driven for a week in April, which meant that they were still spanking new. Imagine my surprise when the office manager, Cheryl Stanton emailed me a photo showing that she used her own tire depth gauge to show me that Antonio measured my tire tread depth with mud caked into the treads! So effectively, Progressive tried to cheat me out of $134.00. In this world of transactional relationships, what Cheryl did demonstrated how much Nigro's really does care about their customer and their overall experience. From the get-go, I was treated professionally and everyone was courteous, kind and friendly. Their shop is as clean as it can be and their office upstairs is spotless. When I picked up my vehicle today I can truly say that Nigro's surpassed my expectations. Not only was my car professional cleaned, detailed, waxed and buffed, and not only was a plastic mat on the driver's side, but there was a plastic protective sheathing around my steering wheel that looked like a shower cap! Nigro's went over and above the standard level of care in an ordinary body shop. If you want a great experience, with effective and friendly communication at every step of the process, although I don't wish you an accident, if it does happen in Philly, don't hesitate to call Cheryl Stanton at Nigro's!
