My main reason for choosing the shop is because my insurance was covering the cost and because the shop is related to the dealership where I purchased my car. I may have shopped around further if those two factors where not in play.

The staff is friendly and helpful. While I recognize that it has become a common practice, I do find it unreasonable for businesses to pass the full 3% credit card merchant fee on to customers. We are not the only ones benefiting from card services and these transactions are quite large to not pay using a credit card. At least split it.
