After reviewing the damage to my car, Subway said that it would be a little more than a month before they could get to it, that I should bring it in on June 29th. I called two days before to confirm my appointment and was assured that the appointment was confirmed and that they had received the necessary parts. They were to have the car for three days. On the second day I received a call saying that they had ordered the wrong part and that they weren't sure when the part would be available but was told it might be available July 17th. I asked for my car back in the meantime but was told that this was impossible because it had already been taken apart and they were unwilling to put it together to just have to take it apart again. I told them that this could present a real hardship in that I was driving a rental and even though the insurance company was paying for most of it, there was still out of pocket expenses that I was responsible for. Basically I was told that it was not their problem, that I would need to work it out with the insurance company and car rental agency. On July 18th I called to see if they had received the necessary part as yet. They had but had neglected to order the "basket" that the part sat in, that it was expected the next day and that the car would be finished the next day. I received no call the next day; however when I called the following day I was told that my car was ready for pickup. When I explained about the additional expenses that I had incurred, which turned out to be about $750.00, well over the $280.00 that I was expecting, I was told that all that could be done by Subway was to waive the $50.00 co-pay of my insurance. All of this was because Subway had ordered the wrong part to begin with. When I drove the car home, I discovered that the scratch in the paint that I had asked them to fix, at my expense, and for which I had received an estimate, hadn't been touched. This was after it had set in the Subway garage for over three weeks waiting for a part that had nothing to do with the scratch that I was assured would be taken care of. When I went in to pick up the car, I also asked for a price for a small repair to another car that I own. I was assured that, when someone got back from lunch, I would receive a call with the price. That was several days ago and I'm still waiting for that call. In the future, I can say that Subway will not be my first choice for service and, at present, it would be difficult to recommend them to any one.
