ABOUT BAY CUSTOM AUTO Located in the heart of Newport News, Bay Custom Auto has been operating since 1981 in the collision repair business. Starting as a mechanical repair business in 1971, Bay Custom moved to its current location in 1981. The original founder, Ron George, built a company based on both integrity and quality. As one of the oldest remaining businesses in Denbigh, the auto body shop has grown and improved every year. Very pleasant and professional....my only issue was the company doesn't accept personal checks. I had to use all but one of my credit cards which I didn't plan on doing because my money is in the bank.

I felt unsatisfied and would hate for a friend or colleague to be upset with me about their services. I would have them read the Google reviews for themselves and make their own decisions. If they have to decide on a shop due to their insurance carrier I would suggest they use the insurance carriers other option.

I hear a clicking sound every time I turn my wheel to the right which shouldn't be happening. For the length of time Bay Custom had my car, it should be fixed right. Also, there was a car part left up in my windshield and no one has returned my call to tell me if I need to discard the part or bring it back to the shop.

No one called to update me on the progress of my car repair. I had to call each week on the day AFTER my car was supposed to be done and ask if I could pick it up, only to be told that the repair would take an additional week. I read Google reviews that also stated that no one at the shop ever calls to keep customers abreast of changes but I just figured that the company had fixed this particular problem. The phone call I did finally receive was to come pick up my car AFTER I had given the company my Mom's phone number as the person to call when the car was ready to be picked up. Then she had to call and confirm because no one bothered to call her as instructed.
