Why would anyone wait until 4pm on a Friday to call that the car is finished and expect a pickup by 5pm the same day.

The repairs themselves appear to be adequate and the car is running well. Unfortunately, the customer service was terrible, and because of that I hope to never need to return to this shop or recommend it to anyone. Not once did anyone from the shop contact me with an update. Every single communication came from me. I was told “worst case scenario” four different times, and every one of those statements turned out to be inaccurate or outright untrue. When the vehicle was finally completed, I was told it could not be released until the insurance company paid. I then spent an entire week making daily calls between the shop and my insurance company trying to resolve an issue that should never have been my responsibility. It was very clear that this shop was more focused on getting paid than on getting me back into my vehicle. After being told they sent paperwork to the insurance company that morning, I was told by the shop, “sometimes if the customer calls the insurance company themselves it will speed things up”, at that point, I had already done that after hanging up with the shop. That was a Monday afternoon, and they said they sent it in the morning that day, but the insurance company never received it until Wednesday mid morning. Because my rental coverage was ending, I felt pressured into paying more than my deductible just to retrieve my car after the shop declined a virtual assist appointment with my insurance company. I later confirmed directly with my insurance that I could take possession of the vehicle and complete the virtual assist myself. To make matters worse, the shop performed additional repairs without notifying or receiving approval from the insurance company. As a result, I am now out of pocket for costs that could have been avoided if the shop had communicated properly. This entire experience was disorganized, misleading, and financially damaging. I was left to manage insurance issues, deadlines, and communication on my own while the shop failed to act responsibly or transparently. The only positive part of this experience was my car salesman, who helped me locate an EV-certified repair facility and has been supportive and apologetic for the way I was treated. Overall, this shop made me feel taken advantage of and dismissed. I strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere.
