The repair was done very cheaply and incorrectly. There was a trim piece that is black gloss from the factory and is not painted. Instead of replacing a piece that wasn't even very expensive. They decided to paint it. Because this is a glossy surface that was not designed to be painted the paint is not going to take to it well. So I ended up with an orange peel texture on the back of this car. It truly looks like I went to Walmart and bought a can of spray paint and tried to fix it myself. It doesn't match any of the other gloss black trim on the vehicle. On top of that, the piece doesn't even fit in there correctly since it was struck with the other vehicle. It has more gap on one side than the other. I don't understand allowing this vehicle to go out like this. Also, if they don't mind doing a repair poorly that can be seen, what might there be underneath that I can't see. I thought there was a little bit of quality with the brand name but I was wrong. This is also a brand new 2026 vehicle with very low mileage. We've only had it for a few months. I would think they would take extra time to try to put it back to normal as we are put out by someone who wasn't paying attention and has caused a lot of difficulty for us.

So far they have been friendly and seem to be helpful. I am truly hoping that they will take time to resolve this issue correctly. I did ask them to let me know if the insurance company was trying to cut corners or go with aftermarket parts as this is a brand new vehicle so that I could work with the insurance company to do it correctly. I did not receive a call so I don't know if the insurance company is responsible for this shoddy repair or if the body shop.
