This answer could change depending on the ease and quality of any re-work, but based on the initial work and current state of the car, I would not recommend Clay Auto Body.

Repair Quality

Hello, I couldn’t find an email address for you guys, so I’ll send this here: My name is Haley . I recently had repair work done on my 2013 Honda Civic at your shop in connection with a Liberty Mutual claim. I picked my car up on Wednesday evening. There was no space available in the lot at the time I picked up the vehicle, so your team pulled the car up to the opposite side of Watertown Street. Because traffic was fairly heavy, the car was running, and I assumed all repairs had been completed, I didn’t check the vehicle for any issues before I drove away. Unfortunately, it became apparent once I began driving—and even more so when I had a chance to examine the car from outside—that there were several problems with the vehicle. I immediately called your shop to report the most obvious issue: a wide rubber part of the exterior of my car (I think a part of the windshield, but I’m not sure) had not been reattached and was sitting on the dashboard. Your team assured me that was a mistake that they could easily rectify, which I was glad about. In all honesty, I found this one kind of funny. Since speaking with your team about the loose part on Wednesday evening, I’ve noticed the following major problems: - The interior of the car is filthy. Much of the back seat is coated with dust, handprints, gravel, and something like dog hair (I don’t own a dog); the center console, gear shift, wheel, and dashboard of the car are grimy/sticky, and; there appear to be two small burn marks on the fabric covering of the driver’s side door. - The passenger side front tire rim is significantly damaged. An approximately 4 inch chunk of the rim appears to have been torn/scraped away and is protruding outwards. This damage did not exist prior to my bringing the car to your shop. (The rear passenger side tire was partially dented in the accident that prompted my visit to the shop, but that rim looks fine.) - The fabric covering the interior of the car has been pulled off of the interior walls along the edges. It is sagging inwards at the top and appears to be stained with some type of seeping or melting liquid. The padding beneath the fabric is visible in two spots. Again, this damage did not exist prior to my visit to your shop. In addition to the above issues, the tires of the car are flat; a warning screen appears when the car is turned on, and the tire pressure light remains on when the car is running. Further, the passenger side panel that your team repainted has bubbled areas, dull patches, an unrepaired (or new?) dent, and a poorly taped-off and uneven pinstripe that alternates between a hard, textured line and blurred, over-sprayed segments. A disappointing result, no doubt, but in comparison to the other problems, these are minor. In sum, it’s clear that at the very least, the car was not checked or cleaned (much less detailed) before I picked it up. I really liked speaking with you guys through the claim and repair process, and I completely trusted your shop to handle the relatively minor repairs needed after my car was hit. I’m not usually one to complain about a service, but the current state of the car is totally unacceptable. I mean, the car is quite literally… in pieces.

Customer Service

While the work took a bit of time, they went above and beyond and it came out great! Also did some detail work inside, cleaning everything and spruced up the exterior/tires. Really appreciative.
