Here’s my review on Nextdoor. After someone backed into my car in a parking lot, my insurance company told me their nearest certified repair shop was Fix Auto on Republic Avenue, located across Merced where it runs past the San Leandro Kaiser. I called the shop on my next day off work and was told that they already had my insurance claim number. I drove up and got an estimate of the repair cost, along with an explanation of why the less obvious work was necessary (for example, the rear sensors needed to be recalibrated after the bumper was reattached), and was told the job would take two full days. There was zero pressure to choose FA, but the communication among FA, the insurance company, and me was so smooth that it was an easy choice. They needed to order a part, so I waited until they called to tell me it had arrived. I dropped off my car as soon as I could arrange to work from home for the next two days. Their time estimate was spot-on, and they called me about three hours in advance to let me know when I could pick up my car. The scraped area looked as good as new, all the cameras and sensors worked fine, and the car had been thoroughly cleaned inside and out, so it looked much better than it had three days ago. All the paperwork was ready, and I was able to drive home about ten minutes after I'd arrived. I hadn't known there was an auto repair shop on Republic Avenue, but FA did such a good job that I'll go straight to them the next time I need work done on my car, whether or not it's because of an accident. They are very easy to work with, and their location is so close to my neighborhood that I can walk over instead of paying for an Uber or Lyft. Give them a try!
