I would tell them that ultimately the work was well done, but that my experience was that the communication was poor and let them decide how to handle that.

The work that was done was great. Unfortunately, even though we dropped the car off on Monday, we got no communication until Thursday when we were told the vehicle was "entering today" and that they'd give us an estimated completion time on Friday. On Friday we heard that we'd hear a completion date "soon". The following Monday we heard it was likely going to be done Thursday. At least we were getting information at that point, even though it was not done until Saturday. At minimum, it would have been nice to have been told that you couldn't work on the car until Thursday or Friday, so wait to bring it in then.
