Let me start by saying I had a very satisfactory experience a year ago. Last week's experience was anything but satisfactory. We dropped our car with Harbor Auto Body in Portland Maine on a Tuesday morning for relatively modest repairs. Received an estimate of ~$1100. Received a call 5 days later that work had not started as "the car was dropped off after hours" and paperwork was not in order. After correcting them, and filling out the paperwork again, they did the work in four days. We were presented with a bill for $2750 with a completely inadequate explanation for the difference from the estimate. Very unprofessional. I will seek out an alternative next time I need a body shop.
