The quote jumped out at me before the work even started: $8,000 for a simple scratch. The moment I mentioned insurance was covering it, the number dropped to just under $2,000. Make of that what you will. When I got my car back, I did a walkthrough and immediately noticed what they hadn’t. Pieces sticking out from the roof reassembly. Dust and residue left over from the work. Nothing catastrophic, but nothing you’d call finished either. They’ll get the job done. But if you’re detail-oriented and expect a shop to care as much about your car as you do, keep looking. You’ll drive away wondering what you missed, and that’s not a feeling you want after handing over your vehicle.
