Island Fender went above and beyond to repair the damage to my car. Even after repairs were done beautifully, I asked for suggestion about a rust spot on my hood. Your techs were so helpful and did a great job mitigating further damage. I wish I had gotten the names of your personable body repair personnel. They were extremely helpful and I am truly grateful for the beautiful body work on my car. My car inside and out is so much cleaner and beautiful than when I brought it in for repair. Professional and friendly staff- receptionist, intake, and repair technician. From start to finish. I liked how they have a standardized script so that info on every step of the repair process was thorough and explained well. Hello, I would like to ask about the recent repair on my vehicle. I understand that the trunk door and rear bumper were replaced after the accident. However, I noticed that the trunk door appears to have been replaced with a plastic component instead of metal. I purchased this car new, and the original trunk door was metal. I was not informed in advance that the replacement part would be made of plastic, and I did not give consent to this change. I am concerned about the overall quality and long-term durability of this part, especially regarding potential issues such as sun exposure, deterioration, and paint peeling. Could you please clarify the following: - Is this part OEM (original manufacturer) or aftermarket? - Was this material change based on manufacturer specifications or insurance requirements? - Does this part meet the same standards as the original metal component? If this is not equivalent to the original specification, I would like to request that the trunk door be replaced with a genuine OEM metal part. I would also appreciate information regarding any warranty on the part and paint. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to your response.
