It would have been a 10 had I been told that the PDR I had done to the left fender cracked the paint. Not a big deal because I touched it up with some clear paint, but I should have been told. Unaddressed would have led to the fender rusting.

Sylvia and Alex were both very professional in taking care of my needs each time I was in the shop. And my car looked great when I picked it up. If I need any work in the future I will be back. Thank you Sylvia and Alex. Debbie

My vehicle was service by LaFontaine in Redford, but it was a disastrous experience!

The repairman replaced a part that, to my knowledge, was never damaged to begin with. So while it has been months dealing with these repairs, my car now has to go BACK to the shop because they put the wrong handle on my door that didn’t need to be touched to begin with.

The first guy (Don) I dealt with had me wait a month for a part that was never ordered. He got fired, and Alex has been doing his best to fix everything for me.

Due to delays in obtaining parts and labor shortages, the "promised delivery date" keep getting pushed back. Originally the car was promised by late October and numerous problems occurred whereby additional parts had to be ordered and Tesla Tech supported was utilized to solve some of the problems. I realize many of the problems were not the fault of LaFontaine (Redford Body Shop) but the experience was not the best.

The quality of repair was good, except that the car that I have (2020 Model S Tesla) had the rear hatchback damaged. The hatchback had to be replaced and the replacement part from Tesla was designed with a model change over for 2021. The panel seam on the hatchback is "off" by a small fraction of an inch. I was told that they had consulted with Tesla Tech support and that was the best result that could have been achieved.

To be fair. There were several factors that occurred which created numerous challenges to the repairs of my car. I was requested to bring my car in for repair on August 29 ,2022. They didn't start work on the car until mid September. My car was drivable so I had rented a car for almost two weeks, whereby had I brought the car in when they had actually started the work, I would have saved the rental fee. Unfortunately, the mechanic who started the work had a stroke and was unable to continue. The body shop had severe labor problems to complicate matters. However, by November 22 they did give me a loaner vehicle and I received my vehicle around December 20th.

It took them 4 months to get the car fixed. Simple bumper and front end repair. Ended up costing 6k in rental car charges as insurance only covered the first month of rental coverage. They could have easily shopped out the service to another shop instead of just blaming it on having one hoist and parts hard to find. I will never be returning for body work at Lafontaine ever again. Oil change maybe, but Belle tire seems to be more efficient for that as well. There was no offer made for loaner cars and when we approached the body shop, the red headed woman that runs the place said that it was only for service shop work and not body shop work. But, she added, there is a running list of names of people that were looking for loaners out of the body shop but there were 6 people ahead of us. If we were added to that list from the beginning we may have been able to avoid all the rental car charges as one may have come available. All and all I am beyond disappointed in Lafontaine body shop and would advise people to avoid them at all costs. This is inexcusable

Garbage, shop your work out to functioning shops if you can’t compete the work In a timely fashion DO NOT, I Repeat , DO NOT continue to blame it on labor and parts shortages. Do your due diligence and find the solutions. Not just watch the clock until 5pm until you can go home. Be innovative, try problem solving, and try other options to get the work completed to satisfy to your customer. There are options out side of the normal “ box” if you just try to think outside of it.
