Caliber Collision – Conyers, GA (Dogwood Location) On January 3rd, my 2018 Lexus ES350 was rear-ended while stopped in traffic at roughly 45–50 mph. The impact was strong enough to push the tailpipe inward and jolt the entire vehicle. I dropped my car off at Caliber on January 15th, expecting a thorough diagnosis and proper repairs. I’d used them before and was told it might take a few weeks, which sounded reasonable. Instead, I got a call on January 20th that it was “ready.” From the access road I could see the rear bumper was plain white while my car is pearl white — a very obvious mismatch. Even the advisor agreed. I left the car for them to fix it. They delivered it to my house on January 21st, and I felt rushed through inspection while they focused on taking payment. Later that day my brother noticed the right tailpipe was hanging lower, and we saw something loose underneath near the gas tank. The paint was still wrong, lacking the pearl flake. I brought the car back on January 22nd. On January 28th, I was told it was ready again. The paint still didn’t match, the trunk was misaligned, and the tailpipe was still uneven. I pointed all of this out to the advisor and painter. On February 4th, I picked it up yet again. They said they had done an alignment. The paint was closer to correct, but the tailpipe was still slightly off. I accepted it just to move on. Soon after, my family and I noticed a popping noise when stopping or turning — something that never existed before the crash. I was delayed contacting them because my father is fighting cancer and I’ve been overwhelmed with his care. On February 16th, I contacted my insurance and an escalation was opened. Another alignment was approved. After further inspection, on February 25th I was told the alignment was not the issue — the front upper motor mount was broken — and the insurance company refused to cover it. My car did not have this problem before being rear-ended at high speed. A strong rear impact absolutely can damage engine mounts as the drivetrain shifts under sudden deceleration, especially at the speed I was hit. Since then I’ve been bounced between adjusters with no clear answer on who denied the claim or why. I am still left with: A broken motor mount that wasn’t present before the accident A tailpipe that is still misaligned Multiple return visits just to correct paint and alignment issues This has been exhausting and incredibly frustrating. If the repairs had been handled correctly the first time, this review would be very different. I simply wanted my vehicle repaired properly and safely; instead I’ve dealt with poor quality control, insurance runaround, and zero accountability. I will keep pursuing a proper resolution — no customer should have to fight this hard to get accident damage repaired the right way.
