I rated the shop a 2 because I was disappointed with the quality of the repair. I dropped my truck off to have the bumper damage repaired, but when I received the truck back, some of the scratches were still visible on the bumper. I expected the repair to be completed properly before the vehicle was returned to me.

I rated the quality of the repair a 2 because some of the scratches on the bumper were still visible when I received my truck back. Since the purpose of the repair was to correct the bumper damage, I expected the work to be completed properly and the vehicle to be returned in fully repaired condition. This was very disappointing.

I brought my BMW X5 to Caliber Collision for a bumper repair, and unfortunately this has been one of the most frustrating body shop experiences I’ve had. They had the vehicle for about a week for the initial repair. When I got it back, the quality of the paintwork was unacceptable. The passenger side of the bumper had a noticeable orange-peel texture, there was debris trapped in the paint in multiple areas, a scratch on the quarter panel that was supposed to be addressed was still there, and there was also a mark in the paint on the driver's side of the bumper. I left the vehicle and gave Caliber the opportunity to make it right. They kept it for ANOTHER WEEK. They buffed out some of the debris, but there is still debris in the paint, the orange-peel texture is still present, and the quarter-panel scratch still has not been addressed. They also refused to correct the mark on the driver's side of the bumper because they claim it was already there. I reviewed the photo of the vehicle from before the repair and I cannot see the mark they are referring to. More importantly, this is on the bumper that had to be prepped and painted as part of the repair. I don't understand how a visible paint defect on a panel they refinished is simply dismissed as pre-existing. What bothers me most is the overall lack of attention to detail. My X5 has some normal wear, and I was left with the impression that because the vehicle wasn't cosmetically perfect when it arrived, the quality of the repair didn't need to be either. That is incredibly disappointing. I wasn't expecting them to make the entire vehicle new—I expected the areas I was paying them to repair and refinish to be done correctly. After TWO WEEKS at Caliber Collision, including giving them a second chance to correct the workmanship, I still have orange peel, debris in the paint, an unresolved scratch, and a paint defect they refuse to address. I will not use Caliber Collision again and cannot recommend them based on my experience.
