Jim Guthrie, owner and first technician of Car Crafters, started a body shop in his parent’s garage as a teenager. After filling up the cul-de-sac with cars, Jim’s parents told him to focus on college or find a shop and move out of their garage. From that moment on, Jim has been pursuing his love for repairing and customizing cars. Today, you can visit any of Car Crafters’ state-of-the-art facilities. Everyone front the front desk person to Johnathon we’re extremely helpful on helping me understand what needed to be done. Johnathon explained very clear in his explanation in what and how the damage to the car would be repaired. Also he was very good at keeping me in the loop about when the repairs would be completed. When it comes to what company or business, I might use for things like plumbing repairs, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, and similar services, I typically consult the company’s review ratings as well as the Better Business Bureau evaluations. My insurance agency, State Farm (which has been great during this claim process), recommended 4 or 5 places for body work, Car Crafters was one of them. I reviewed the ratings from all of them. One thing that seem to be common with most was the time it took to get body work completed. Sometimes, the process took months instead of weeks. The reason I chose Car Crafters on Holly Ave. NE is because they had more frequent reviews and no big issues with projected time for repair that I could see. When I dropped off my truck, we conducted a joint inspection to record every dent, paint chip, and any accident damage that needed repairs. I had already taken a video beforehand. Their estimate for acquiring the parts and completing the repairs would require 17 days. They completed the repairs in 15 days and produced excellent results. When I got home after picking my truck up, I noticed a little scratch that was not there when I dropped my truck off. I drove right back over to the shop (I only live two miles from the shop) and brought this to their attention. The scratch was deep and about a quarter of an inch long (small). I was hoping to get a little touch-up paint to help conceal it. But the service person said touch up paint would not last long and the whole collum where the scratch needs to be repainted. They saw from her photos that the scratch was not there when I dropped off the truck, quickly accepted responsibility, and scheduled the repair at my convenience. I dropped my truck off the next morning and picked it up later that afternoon. I do not know how they did it, but you would have never known the scratch was ever there. My 2021 F250 Super Crew King Ranch looked brand new again. All I can say is excellent job.
