After this repair, I am not so sure. Gapsch has always done a great job, but this time was different.

Repair Quality

Missing spare tire, missing trunk cover, bottom where spare tire is supposed to be is foam packing material instead of component. Flimsy cover.

I am wholly dissatisfied with the quality of the job for this car. Furthermore I’m Shocked your company didn’t concede the fact that you increased the price for no useful reason and didn’t bother to address the hail damage. Your stance was the issue is my fault. Your company is not trustworthy in my estimation.

We never want a customer to be unhappy with the outcome of the repair process or their decision to choose our team to provide that repair. Normally when we hear a concern and review the steps leading to those concerns we have an opportunity to raise our hand, own the mistake, and resolve this issue. Unfortunately in this instance we have the exception. In this case we have our documented communication via text and email where you requested a hood to be repainted. We mentioned the opportunity that damage could be discovered and you said your hood needs no repair, it only needs painted. In addition to the price to repaint We offerred new and aftermarket hood replacement. You declined, sharing that it was a sixteen year old car for a teenage driver and you didn't want to spend that much. Once we saw the hood with adhesion issue causing the factory paint to lift off the hood, we asked for your approval to strip the hood so the new paint could be applied. If new paint was applied to the peeling paint it would lift off with the old paint as well. This increased labor for your requested paint only also came with two alternate options. We suggested replacing the hood with a recycled white hood, or getting a wrap for your peeling hood. After declining both, we followed up and you approved the additional time and costs required for your hood to be painted. We're very sorry that you're unhappy that we performed the agreed upon work at the agreed upon price. We're sorry that you feel it should have included work that you said it didn't need. These opportunities for feedback are valuable to us. We learn from our missteps and grow through the changes they lead to. It is through this process that we've provided tens of thousands of repairs to customers that were happy that we listened when they asked us to do something, that we did what we said we would for the price we agreed on. Thank you for the feedback and the opportunity.

Best way I can describe the work is just good enough, is it bad enough to have me back in and be without a car again, maybe. It all boils down to fit and finish, body pannels could be better aligned, imperfections in the paint / clear coat.

OUR HAND IS IN THE AIR—THIS ONE IS ON US. When a shop receives feedback like this, it can ignore it, make excuses, or blame the customer for having unrealistic expectations. When appropriate, we prefer to simply own it. We fell short during the quality-control portion of this repair. Several small items were not caught and corrected before the vehicle was returned. As the customer said, the result was “good enough”—but “good enough” is not the standard we promise our customers or expect from ourselves. WE HEARD HIM. His feedback showed us what we missed and where our process and accountability need to improve. We have reviewed the execution of our quality-control procedures, made changes, and will continue monitoring their effectiveness. We also contacted the customer and met with him at his office to inspect the vehicle together. We reviewed the repairs, acknowledged where we fell short, and discussed options for making things right. Our team developed a plan and timeline, and we will pick up the vehicle at his convenience, complete the necessary work, and return it to him. No shop is perfect. What matters is what happens next. We’ve been serving this community since 1959 because we listen when our customers speak, stand behind our work, and do what it takes to make things right. We’re a local team that takes pride in what we do—and when we fall short, we own it. Our hand is in the air. This one is on us, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to make it right, learn from the experience and earn this customer’s trust again.
