My Experience

After car was towed to their facility for repair, it was within their locked and gated back lot, and was broken into, with window and back windshield completely busted in. Many items were stolen out of the vehicle, including my personal, licensed firearm. When I got there to do the walk over for the vehicle before repairs were started, the employee didn’t even realize that the windows were completely busted in, and glass laying everywhere around the vehicle. We had photos from the towing company when they dropped off the vehicle, and everything was fine at that time, and vehicle was in same gated spot when I returned the following day to review the vehicle with the employee. The manager pulls me into his office and informs me that I will need to submit an additional vandalism claim with my insurance company and that my insurance company would cover all damages to the vehicle as well as the stolen items within, but since it was on their property, they would take care of the deductible for this claim. I called my car insurance, and they informed me that they do not cover loss is property but would cover the damages to the vehicle, that my home owners or renters insurance would cover loss of property within my vehicle, and therefore since it would just be for the glass repair, I should speak with the repair company about repairing it individually without going through insurance since the repair company would be liable due it being on their gated lot, and repair may be less than the deductible they offered to pay anyway. When I called back to ask the repair company if they’d prefer to handle the situation privately, they then flipped switch, and said they’re not liable for a thing, and that they would not be paying for a thing, including the deductible previously mentioned. I informed them that this was completely different to what I was told previously by the manager Cody, and they said if I wanted I could speak with their Director of Operations who called me on my cell phone personally a few minutes later. He also said that they were not responsible, and would not be covering a dime for anything, including the deductible that was previously mentioned by the manager Cody, and that if I want my insurance company to talk to him directly they can, and gave me his cell number. I called my insurance company back again, since the repair facility is supposed to be a high rated facility by the insurance company, and they stated again, no, the repair company is fully responsible for the damages to the vehicle whenever they take possession of it for repairs to be done, and with it being in their locked and gated lot, they had. I gave my insurance company the Director of Operations cell number and received a call the next day that my insurance company and he had spoken, and they would be paying the deductible for this claim as previously mentioned by Cody. The repair ended up taking much longer than originally anticipated, and the repair company tacked on two additional high dollar supplements to both claims (the original collision and the vandalism claim) that increased the cost of the repairs by thousands of dollars to try and milk the insurance company for everything they could. When it was near to the completion of repairs for the vehicle, my insurance company called me back again, and said they spoke with Crash Champions again now Crash Champions was refusing to cover the deductible again for the vandalism.

They kept me abreast as progress occurred handled my car rental coordination for when to have my rental ready for me and also the return. I didn’t have to make a single call to anyone. I was able to return my Enterprise rental car at the repair facility and Enterprise came and got it. Very simple, very streamlined, very minimum/no burden.
