I’m not impressed with the experience I had at Ed’s. I originally went with Ed’s vs another collision repair shop because they said they could get my car in right away (whereas the closer shop would take 2 weeks). They received my car from State Farm a week after my accident. It took 2 weeks just to tear down the car and get an estimate. Then it took another 2 weeks just to start repair (I was told this was not a part supply thing, but a lack of technician). In that time, I had already gone through my insurance rental (paid $250 out of pocket waiting 4 weeks for my car back). Ed’s offered a loaner car for the remaining (what I thought) would be a few days. This turned into 2 weeks with the loaner car that was not at all equivalent to my car (sedan, no dogs allowed, no backup cam, no display, no AWD, non-working windsheild wipers). When I was finally able to pick up my car, they gave me grief for not filling up the tank (an $8 thing!!) as it was over 3/4 of a tank full and was in the middle of a snow storm. My windows would not go down for 2 days (I assume they washed it and then immediately left it outside so it froze shut). Otherwise my car *seems* fine but I am worried after this experience that the repairs aren’t top notch.
