I think it was ridiculous that they would not hand me an estimate until I dropped the car off for repair. I asked for a copy numerous times and the excuse was that it isn't final and "we'll give it to you when you drop the car off." That is very off-putting. Plus, with the amount of money the insurance company paid, and the car already going into the paint shop, paint being mixed, car taped and in the paint baker (or whatever this shop uses to harden and dry the paint) that they still wanted to charge me full price/over $2,500 to fix a deep scratch on the driver's side rear quarter panel. I was willing to pay but give me a break! They purposefully over estimated/doubled the timeframe of repair (causing un-needed stress). They gave me 4 weeks as the timeline but wouldn't commit to anything. When I finally got the estimate I can add the hours (my father owned an auto body shop for over 40+ years and I worked there for 2-1/2 years...I get how this works) and it ultimately worked out to when the car was actually done. Very frustrating. Happy that the repair ultimately took less than 2 weeks. And, the repair itself is perfect so I'm so torn on this shop.
