My Experience

During this entire process I was very impressed with keeping me informed along the way. I dropped off my rental car and walked over to Caliber in anticipation of one final great moment of picking up my car only to be confused with how it ended. I can understand everything not being perfect and without hiccups. Things happen in every industry and service business. But to find chucks of glass still inside my car and in the front seat area was a big disappointment. It really wasn’t the glass that made me leave feeling off, it was the lack of concern and Quality Assurance that should have been more evident. When I arrived I told my name and I was expected to pay right away. I said I wanted to see the car first as that would in my mind be the correct order to make sure the customer understands what was done and have the ability to look over the vehicle. We ended up doing that and I’m glad I did because I found the inside to be unacceptable with glass chucks and smaller pieces still present. By detailing a car that means having the carpet and seats cleaned with a carpet cleaning machine that sprays water and all of the small particles of glass and debris are suspended and then extracted. When I brought that up it wasn’t met with any apology, but rather “we only vacuum here and don’t do detailing”. Then in back when I spoke with one of the guys, he also seemed unconcerned with even more pieces so found after they had vacuumed again. I guess I was just left thinking how can Caliber have done such a great job with communicating during the entire process, doing a wonderful outside repair and replacement, and then leaving the last area of defense to a below standard state? I’m retired military and also a former small business owner and attention to detail and quality were some of the things I made sure I always did. Again, I totally understand things can happen, but in this case I think a manager and perhaps one other assistant need to inspect every vehicle before any customer is told it’s finished. I have grand kids who ride in that car and I would want any small pieces of glass blowing around if the windows were down, etc.. But, more importantly, I think everyone in the garage needs to be on the same page and perhaps a checklist or some other form of QA needs to be established and adhered too. I’m not complaining here either. I’m just being honest about how much I had been impressed until today when I had to pick up my car.

My Experience

Was disappointed that my car door now has to be manually opened instead of using the buttons to open it. I was not informed about it until they said my car was completed. I was told that this was a previous issue before my car was in an accident but it was not. The door was working fine before it was hit.
