Both drop off and pick up were not great, felt unwelcome and like there was not good communication. Also no one wore a mask for COVID which was ridiculous at this point. During drop off everyone kept telling me over and over again “well we CAN’T turn you away because you’re geico but…” as in, they didn’t want me to be there but they couldn’t shove me out the door, which was uncomfortable because isn’t it your job to fix cars at a car shop? I understand there is a parts shortage but maybe just say that and be realistic about possible delays in repairs instead of making me feel like I was inconveniencing everyone for asking an auto body shop to repair my car. It’s literally your job. Also, there wasn’t even a shortage of any of the parts needed for my car anyway and it was done within a reasonable timeframe so there wasn’t really any need to make me feel unwelcome for taking up room in the lot. Pick up was also weird and disorganized, they didn’t seem ready for me and seemed inconvenienced and also slightly panicky that they needed to actually move my car out for me even though I told them when I’d be coming. Plus some of my stuff was missing from the car and I needed to ask for it. But during the time my car was actually being repaired the communication was excellent and thorough, frequent updates via text and calls, emails answered quickly, etc.

A trim piece was left off the car and I had to wait for the shop to order a new piece.

My car was kept for way longer than initially stated, and it was clear parts were being ordered. Yet my car remained in the shop for almost two months with little communication

What a joke to take the car there. They lost my car key. When I went to drop of my extra key to them. I told the guy how I felt about the service and everything. He took too personally and told me to “Stop” and don’t be mad with me”. I told him I wasn’t bad with him but I was mad with their process.

My car was in the shop for almost 2 months. I had to pay a lot of money out of pocket for my rental once my insurance policy was maxed out. I was at times told conflicting information. I texted follow up questions in response to the texted updates, but I usually did not hear any response to my questions. I felt like I was an annoyance and frustration to Sam most times when I spoke with her. I honestly kept my composure well considering the situation. When I picked my car up, Sam handed me the keys without any explanation and this was the first time I have ever picked up my car from a shop. I didn’t know what to do and had to ask a bunch of questions to get basic information. I had to ask if my car was completely finished (I needed a couple back order parts still). I should have been informed without having to ask that. When I went out to my car by myself, the battery was dead and the shop had to jump my car. I noticed later that day that my weather stripping in the left rear door was damaged during the time my car was in the shop. I came to this shop because back in the day I used to work at the Woodstock Enterprise and I really trusted this shop through that relationship. I was very disappointed and will never bring my car back to this shop once I get the last couple of parts installed. Whenever I talked to employees at the shop, they did not validate my frustration or apologize for the circumstances. Sometimes that is what a customer really needs to hear.

absolutely not. I am still feeling disrespected and upset about this experience now two weeks later. I will never return, nor recommend McCollum Auto body to anyone, in fact, I will warn people not to go there.

I felt disrespected on multiple occasions by several staff members. The turnaround time was longer than anticipated, and when I picked up my car, the battery was dead and repairs were incomplete.

Hands down the worst customer service I have experienced at an auto shop in more than 20 years. I have never filed a complaint before at another shop.

Truck stereo would not work (was not broken when I dropped it off) Truck battery was dead. Truck alarm goes off every time I tried to start the truck. Left truck at the shop to have them fix the issues that they caused. They have now had my truck for almost two months. Total nightmare.

Sam was awesome, in fact she should get a pay increase, she’s a keeper. The roof rack was off, not sure how they unlocked it with no key. There was some kind of hand goop on drivers window and back window and 3 pieces of tape left under the car as well.
