I am dissatisfied with my overall repair experience because an issue I specifically reported was not inspected or addressed before my vehicle was returned to me. I personally informed Tim about a noticeable rattle/vibration coming from the engine area that began as a result of the accident. Tim told me that the technician would check the issue as part of the repair process. Based on that conversation, I expected the rattle/vibration to be inspected before I picked up my vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle, I specifically asked whether the rattle/vibration had been checked. I was told that it had not been checked and that I would need to contact GEICO, inform them about the issue, and then bring the vehicle back for it to be evaluated. I contacted GEICO yesterday and was told that if the issue was related to the accident, the repair shop should have inspected it. This is especially frustrating because I had already brought the issue to the shop’s attention and was specifically told by Tim that it would be checked. I paid my $500 deductible with the understanding that the accident-related repairs to my vehicle had been properly completed. However, my vehicle was returned to me with an accident-related concern that I specifically reported still unresolved and, apparently, not even inspected. Had I been informed before making my $500 deductible payment that my vehicle had not been completely evaluated and that the engine rattle/vibration had not been checked, I would not have paid the deductible and accepted the vehicle without first receiving an explanation as to why the issue was not inspected or repaired. I would like Gerber Collision & Glass to honor what I was originally told, properly inspect the rattle/vibration, determine whether it resulted from the accident, and complete any necessary accident-related repairs. My expectation is simply to receive my vehicle back fully repaired and to have the concern I reported taken seriously and properly evaluated.

I would never recommend this shop to anyone after the way this situation was handled. The lack of proper follow-through on a concern that I specifically reported, combined with having to return for an inspection that should have been completed during the original repair, has completely undermined my confidence in this location and the quality of its service.

I am extremely dissatisfied with how this situation has been handled. When I originally dropped off my vehicle for repairs following the accident, I personally informed Tim about the rattle/vibration coming from the engine area and specifically asked that it be checked because it started after the accident. I was told that it would be checked. However, there is now no evidence that the engine rattle/vibration was ever inspected before my vehicle was returned to me. After I raised this issue, Arnold referred me to the Gerber Collision & Glass location in St. Cloud to have the vehicle checked. Arnold also told me to contact GEICO and ask whether they wanted me to bring the vehicle back to the shop, stating that Gerber had no problem checking it. My question is: Why should I have to go through all of this now when the issue was supposed to have been checked from the beginning? At the St. Cloud location, I spoke with General Manager Eduardo Sanchez, who provided excellent customer service and actually took the time to inspect my vehicle. During that inspection, I was informed that the engine mounts were bad and that I should follow up with GEICO and Arnold regarding the issue. Now Arnold is telling me that Gerber cannot do anything unless GEICO determines that it will pay for the repair. I understand that GEICO ultimately determines what it will authorize or cover under the insurance claim. However, that does not address my complaint. My complaint is that I specifically reported this accident-related concern to Gerber before the original repairs were completed, Tim told me it would be checked, and apparently it was not. Had Gerber inspected the engine rattle when I originally reported it, this issue could have been documented and presented to GEICO while my vehicle was already being repaired. Instead, I paid my $500 deductible and picked up my vehicle believing that the accident-related concerns I reported had been properly inspected and that my vehicle was completely repaired. Had I been told before paying my deductible that Gerber had not inspected the engine rattle/vibration I specifically reported, I would have asked for my vehicle to be inspected before accepting it as completed. I should not now be placed in the middle between Gerber and GEICO because something I specifically asked Gerber to inspect was apparently overlooked during the original repair process. Saying that Gerber will be “more than happy to fix it if GEICO approves it” does not resolve the fact that Gerber should have inspected and documented the concern when I first reported it. I am requesting an explanation as to why the engine rattle/vibration was not inspected during the original repair despite my specifically reporting it and being told by Tim that it would be checked. I would also like Gerber to properly document the findings regarding the engine mounts and communicate directly with GEICO regarding whether the damage is related to the accident. After this experience and the way this issue has been handled, I would never do business with this Gerber location again. The only positive experience throughout this situation was with Eduardo Sanchez at the St. Cloud location, who listened to my concern, treated me professionally, and actually took the time to inspect the vehicle.
