Repair took several weeks. it took three trips until the new Lexus front end replacement was reasonably close to factory finish levels.

Ernest was always professional and polite and did work to get the job done correctly, finally. so, not sure if he had the authority to say the job is not good enough before calling the customer to come get the car-which was not good enough in fact

I emailed Ernie with my comments, copying them here as well: I picked up our X5 today and I want to mention a few things. I will drop it off this weekend to fix the misaligned fender and bumper as we discussed, but here are some additional points to note please: The interior of the driver's side is filthy, including a greasy shop rag, rubber gloves and filthy floor paper which were left in the car. There are grease smudges all over the door panel, on the leather and elsewhere. The Parking Distance Control is no longer functioning and there is a warning upon start-up and anytime reverse is engaged. The trim piece on the exterior drivers side of the windshield is misaligned, see attached video. (unable to attach the video, I attached some pics instead) There is a clunking noise coming from the rear hatch area. I’m beyond disappointed and I just do not understand how you could give me the car in this condition. Even if it was just the misaligned fender it would be unacceptable, that was the core repair job and either the misalignment wasn’t noticed by your team or you were hoping I wouldn’t notice it, and I’m not sure which is worse. I’m copying my insurance agent here as well to get ahead of any disputes that may arise from this, but I certainly hope that all of the points can be resolved without issue.
