Let me drive away with gas tank problem and smell of gas fumes from my car. Lied to me and insurance company saying the gas tank filled and they filled it. It was on 3/4 tank like I said it would not fill past and could not fill it past this when left. Was told I’d have to pay for the rental if I kept it there. They told insurance company it was drivable like this. I did a quick google search and many reports said it was a vapor canister problem or internal float problem to gas tank. And this problem is also causing my car to sound like it will stall at idle. I think they just rushed me out of there because of the insurance company but I am embarrassed for them for letting me leave with a safety issue like this. Can’t park my car in garage. Am being told I need to pay for diagnostics to get gas tank looked at. Overall they lied to me and the insurance company and because of this I am suffering and my whole family is also. Shame.

Find a place that serves the community, not the insurance company.

Rear ended. Cosmetic damage plus gas tank would not fill past 3/4. I’m LEO and public service. I need a fully functioning car. They repaired the cosmetic damage but did not fix the gas tank issue. I was called and lied to by Jennifer with her stating the gas tank filled fine. “We put 15 dollars of gas in it”. They told the insurance company the same. Then on day of possible pick up she called and said they took it to a mechanic and the mechanic said it had a vapor cannister leak or problem. She called me and said the insurance was not going to pay for it and I needed to pick it up. I called the insurance and because of the report I got from them they forced me to go pick up the car. I got in it and the tank was at 3/4 like I left it. So they lied about that. Went to gas station to fill it up and confirmed it will not fill. I googled this information and found that the vapor canister or gas tank “float” can commonly get damaged in a rear end collision. I advised them of this and they acted like I was a moron. How can a “collision expert” not know this as an issue and let me drive off with a car that was damaged and still in need of repair. When I let them know I was LEO and public servant it fell on deaf ears. Now I’m stuck to try and find my own time to take it to the dealer and pay for a rental myself to both have it fixed and inspected. 1. Liars. 2. Not experts. 3. Not LEO or community public service friendly. These are people who work in our community sending a public service back out to public with a known defect in the car I trusted them to repair. It’s a shame.
